The world’s largest stateless people group, the Kurds live in territories across Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. They have been the target of persecution, ethnic cleansing, and military campaigns for centuries, and while 30-40 million Kurds live in these territories across the Middle East, millions more live in the Kurdish diaspora worldwide. Generally speaking, most Kurds are Muslims since birth.
