KINGDOM COME

KINGDOM COME

“At this stage, we are in desperate need of clarity as to what the Kingdom is— and is not— lest we give ourselves to a pursuit and pageantry that will burn when He comes on the clouds in power and glory.”

THE TORN TENTS OF ABRAHAM & THE ORDAINED BRIDGE OF RECONCILIATION

THE TORN TENTS OF ABRAHAM & THE ORDAINED BRIDGE OF RECONCILIATION

"This is what Jesus shed His blood for on the cross. The Everlasting Covenant, gifted to Abraham, inherited by Isaac, and passed onto Jacob, now stewarded by his sons and daughters. But, mind you, it did not go to Ishmael. It did not go to Esau. These disruptions tore the tents of their father Abraham, and set the stage for the fractures running throughout the Middle East and the broader nations of the earth today. The controversy of the covenant split the family then, and it splits the family now. The whole world is reeling for it."

A HEAVY STONE // PART III

A HEAVY STONE // PART III

"We know that when the gospel of the Kingdom is preached to all nations, then the end will come... Until then, we have a responsibility —given to us by Jesus — to bear witness to His coming Kingdom. We have been commissioned by the Lord to preach the gospel to all nations. And to do so while living lives consistent with the Sermon on the Mount. The timing we leave to Him, but the obedience is still on us."

A HEAVY STONE // PART II

A HEAVY STONE // PART II

“the identity of the Church is bound to the history of the Jewish people.” and because of that, it is vital that we have a right understanding of this fact: “God’s discipline of Israel has always been, and will always be, with the purpose vindicating His name and winning back His wayward son. The coming trouble is no exception.”

A HEAVY STONE // PART I

A HEAVY STONE // PART I

What does it mean to stand with or against Israel? This is a weighty and nuanced issue. And the consequences are everlasting. We should be eager then to allow Jesus to define what He means by standing with or against Israel.

GAZA, GOLIATH, GOSPEL: LIVING IN A WORLD TOO GOOD AT WAR

GAZA, GOLIATH, GOSPEL: LIVING IN A WORLD TOO GOOD AT WAR

Deductively, a social justice-centric hermeneutic leads us to conclude God will always fight for and side with the underdog. He is, to be sure, the “Father to the fatherless” and tireless advocate for the poor and needy, and the One who will defend the defenseless and vindicate all victims. This is just who He is. This is what He does and will do in fullness in the Day of the LORD and reign of King Jesus. The story of David & Goliath confirms this—but not in validation of a social justice liberation theology.

A STRONG DELUSION

A STRONG DELUSION

But another phenomenon has also crept out of the Abyss and into the daylight: denial, equivocation, and even gleeful, public celebration of barbaric acts against Jews. These things haven't just come from the voices of Hamas, Hezbollah, and the ayatollahs in Iran. They have come from the streets of Istanbul, London, Paris, Berlin, Toronto, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. They have come from university campuses and city squares. Instead of a global outpouring of love and support, the global Jewish community is confronted with a renewed surge of antisemitic anger and violence that has targeted their shops, their homes, and their schools. Simply put, they have become the targets of a delusion.

TERRORISTS, RACISTS, & ANTISEMITES: AN OPEN LETTER ON BEING A DECENT HUMAN BEING

TERRORISTS, RACISTS, & ANTISEMITES: AN OPEN LETTER ON BEING A DECENT HUMAN BEING

At the end of the day, social media doesn’t matter. It is here today and gone tomorrow. But “out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks,” and our feeds have become a proverbial reflection of our priorities. I wish I could say I am surprised to see the “social justice warriors” online silent in the aftermath of this terrorist attack. I wish I could say I am surprised that very few news outlets are willing to use appropriate language to call it what it is. I wish I could say I am surprised that any show of support or sympathy for Israel in these days is partitioned with qualifying caveats because “the Israel-Palestine situation is complex.”

Unfortunately, I am not surprised. As Joel Richardson quoted historian Robert Wistrich in The Great Rage, looking into the obscenity that is the Holocaust is like “staring into a black abyss, and hoping it doesn’t stare back.” But to our horror, that black abyss is not simply staring back. It is crawling out from the depths and coming to life through the hands and feet of entities like Hamas. Like Hezbollah. Like the Iranian regime. And in the same way the Nazis were opposed by too few, these monsters in our day are not facing even a fraction of the opposition they deserve.

It is not difficult to be a decent human being. The bar is getting lower and lower. This week is a golden opportunity to meet it.

THE CENTRALITY OF JERUSALEM IN THE ETERNAL PURPOSES OF GOD

THE CENTRALITY OF JERUSALEM IN THE ETERNAL PURPOSES OF GOD

The glory of the Gentiles brought into obedience to Jesus is to not only receive the mercy of salvation to call upon the name of the God of Israel, but to cultivate the mature faith of the Canaanite mother and burden of the apostolic father, that it we could find ourselves in this same reflection: “Behold, Jesus Christ still weeping over Jerusalem through the eyes of Paul.”

THE SINGULAR GOSPEL

THE SINGULAR GOSPEL

There is one Gospel, and it is the Gospel of the Kingdom. We are prohibited from proclaiming anything else. The burden of the prophets and testimony of the apostles points us to the restoration of all things from the center of the covenantal commonwealth under the leadership of King Jesus.

ACCUSATIONS, APARTHEID, AND ACHOR

ACCUSATIONS, APARTHEID, AND ACHOR

What will the just Judge do with the worst of Jacob? What if all these horrible accusations against the people and nation of Israel were true? How would that bear upon the promises and provisions of the Everlasting Covenant? Stephanie Quick explores the prophetic texts to ask what God will do with Israel, even if she is indeed an apartheid state.

ON ZEAL AND ZIONISM

ON ZEAL AND ZIONISM

“The LORD is zealous for Zion with great zeal," and thus there is a Zionism that is not carnal. Join Stephanie Quick and FAI for a family fireside chat to find the zeal of the Lord for Zion that produces a sanctified solidarity with Israel and jealousy that the King of the Jews be known, adored, and obeyed in the nations.

ROCKETS, GIANTS, AND BOOZE

ROCKETS, GIANTS, AND BOOZE

The cup of staggering, cup of stupor, is engineered to push us into the God of the Everlasting Covenant, the One who died to kill the carnality in us—because nothing of the flesh will survive eternity. In this era of rocket fury and the drunken stupor saturating social media, guard your heart. The only Goliath is the antichristic spirit that opposes the eternal purposes of God bound up in the everlasting covenant.
