MEN, MEANS, AND OPEN DOORS
On January 4, 1874, Hudson Taylor wrote his mother a letter that included the following:
I am now in the act of arranging for the eventual opening up of the whole of this province to the Gospel as the Lord gives us men, open doors, and means. Pray for these three things.
LABORERS
Matthew 9:37-38; Luke 10:2 Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
Father, You are the Lord of the harvest. Send laborers into the harvest. Mark young adults across the earth and prepare and equip them. Give churches, congregations, and fellowships grace to send and support laborers in sustainable, long-term work.
PROVISION
Psalm 50:10 For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.
Matthew 6:31-34 "Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Father, all things are Yours. Thank You that You own all resources, and all wealth is Yours. We ask You for provision for ministry on the Gospel frontier; that You would fund laborers and the work such that the world would marvel and be blessed by the surplus and strategy of work that honors You.
ACCESS
1 Corinthians 16:9 For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.
Lord, open wide and effectual doors for the Gospel to go forth across the 10/40 Window and among unreached & unengaged people groups. Leverage opposition and persecution for the exaltation of Jesus.
