Several explosions near the Iranian capital of Tehran caused localized power outages and triggered alarms early Friday morning. One blast targeted a missile depot at an Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) installation west of Tehran near the town of Keraj. Iranian state media acknowledged the explosion but provided no additional details regarding its origin, damage or casualties. Two other explosions were reported in the communities of Garmdareh and Quds, just over 30 kilometers from downtown Tehran, causing blackouts in the immediate area.
So far, there is no claim of responsibility for the blasts, which are the sixth in a series of mysterious explosions in the past two weeks. Iranian military sites linked to the nuclear and missile programs have been the primary targets. Israel is widely suspected to be involved, with many analysts suggesting that a combination of stealth airstrikes and “kinetic” hacking methods may have been employed. The response of the Tehran regime has been haphazard thus far, with officials and media both claiming that the blasts have been accidental while also threatening the Jewish State with retaliation if investigations suggest Israeli involvement.
We ask our global prayer partners to join us in intercession, that the Lord would place his hedge around the people of Iran, the people of Israel, and the nations in between, as regional tensions continue to escalate. We pray that the designs of violent men would be frustrated and come to nothing, and that the hidden things of darkness would come to light for the world to see.
