BREAKING: IDF RETALIATES FOR NEAR SIMULTANEOUS ATTACKS FROM SYRIA, GAZA

Israelis in the southern Gaza border town of Sderot scrambled for shelters on Sunday after rocket fire triggered civilian warning systems in the area. The single rocket was successfully intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome system. Falling debris caused minor damage to a civilian vehicle, but no major damage or injuries were reported. The Israeli military (IDF) confirmed on Twitter, that an underground Hamas facility was targeted in a retaliatory airstrike shortly afterwards, reiterating its policy to hold Hamas accountable for all attacks on Israeli soil which originate from the Gaza Strip.

At almost the same time, the IDF’s Northern Command detected a group of 4 militants approaching the border fence with Syria with an improvised explosive device (IED). All four militants were struck and killed before they had a chance to plant the device and detonate it. The IDF has not yet identified the would-be assailants, but has not ruled out the possibility that they are operatives of Hezbollah. The Lebanese terrorist organization has been locked in a standoff with the IDF along the Lebanese border for over a week now, with some analysts claiming that Iran is pushing their surrogate into an open confrontation with Israel. The Israeli military just confirmed its response to the attack moments ago, as reports are flooding social media of multiple airstrikes in Syria this evening. Targets associated with the Syrian Regime, Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have been struck near the Israeli Golan Heights and the capital of Damascus, including observation posts, intelligence collection systems, anti-aircraft artillery, and command and control systems

Both prime minister Bibi Netanyahu and defense minster Benny Ganz spoke to Israeli media today, assuring the public that the IDF is ready to meet any threat posed by malicious actors on either the southern or northern fronts, reminding Israel’s enemies that attempts to harm the Jewish State will be returned in kind.

As always, we ask our global FAI family to continue in prayer for the people of Israel, Syria, Gaza and Lebanon, that God would place his hedge of protection around innocent civilians and the IDF, and that the enemy’s schemes of hatred and violence would be exposed and thwarted. We covet your prayers as we continue to labor with and for all of the people of the Northern Galilee and Golan Heights, where we live and work.
